Food Dangers

  • Chocolate contains theobromine, a compound that is a cardiac stimulant and a diuretic which may kill dogs.
  • Onions and garlic contain the toxic ingredient thiosulphate which may kill dogs.
  • Macadamia nuts cause dogs to develop a tremor of the skeletal muscles, and weakness or paralysis of the hindquarters.
  • Raisins and grapes may be harmful to dogs.
  • Xylitol poisoning in dogs is on the rise.
